Volunteers

Volunteer activities and placements are established on patient care units when requested by staff through the Volunteer Office and run in partnership with the staff to enhance programming. Volunteers contribute thousands of hours in the Centre providing support, friendship and programs that may otherwise be unavailable. On any given day you can see volunteers involved in many programs such as: Centre Gift Shop, Image Clothing Centre, Resource Social Centre, Spiritual and Religious Care Programs, One-to-One and Friendly Visiting, Pet Visiting, Cooking/Baking, Entertainment and Social Activities, Crafts and Leisure Activities. Volunteers also provide many hours participating in meetings, fund raising and special events.

Many of our volunteers are also associated with agencies in the community, Senior’s Centres and local program activities. Our volunteers provide a vital link to the community by spreading the message of Mental Health Awareness and the programs provided by the Centre.
